The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released its annual ranking of the best and worst houses in Australia.
It has released data for 2016, with the house of your dreams highlighted as the second best in Australia, behind only Sydney.
The ABS is also the first Australian organisation to use the Census to assess Australia’s house prices.
The house of the year, the average price per square metre, is $1,092, compared to $1.18 per square meter in Sydney, and $1 per square foot in Melbourne.
The most expensive house in Australia was the Victorian-based home of the billionaire Andrew Forrest, who bought the mansion in the city of Melbourne in 2000 for $3.7 million.
The second most expensive home in Australia is the home of Peter Lewis, a British businessman, who acquired the house in Melbourne in 2009 for $1 million.
In the bottom five spots were the two homes of former prime minister Tony Abbott and his wife, Amanda, who purchased a mansion in Adelaide for $8.7million in 2013.
